Note: This workshop takes place on Eastern Time (ET).
As ministries expand, community needs grow, and donors have deeper questions about the mission and impact of the congregation, capital campaigns provide a pivotal ministry moment to address the physical, pastoral, and outreach needs of any congregation.
A capital campaign is more than a process or a program. It is a ministry! It is an intentional act of faith, in response to a call from God, to do something extraordinary. This workshop will share stories and methods for discerning a call to a capital campaign, methods of organizing a campaign, and practical examples of how campaigns work in the modern congregation.
Participants will learn:

Rob has guided over 100 capital campaigns over his 21-year career in stewardship and philanthropy. He worked on his first capital campaign as a church staff member and quickly caught the bug of the joy of stewardship! Rob went on to join a national firm focused on church capital campaigns. Since then he has managed campaigns as a solo-practitioner and in collaboration with other stewardship coaches. Rob is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and holds a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies. He is working on a PhD in Church Leadership and his dissertation topic is on the pastor’s role as a stewardship leader.
The Center for Congregations is funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc. and is a supporting organization of the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
