In this workshop, you’ll learn a simple, powerful tool for navigating disagreement: the ABCs of Constructive Conversation. Learn and practice how to stay curious, listen deeply, and protect what matters most—our relationships—even when we don’t agree. In this highly interactive workshop, you’ll learn the ABCs framework, then spend time applying the tool to important issues while learning more about your fellow congregation leaders’ perspectives, and planning for how to use this tool within your congregations.

Urban Rural Action works toward a more peaceful, democratic republic by bringing Americans together across divides to tackle our country’s most urgent challenges. In our Uniting for Action programs, participants, called Uniters, work across ideology, race, religion, age, geography, and other differences to address a local challenge in partnership with anchor community institutions. We also strengthen civic participation by providing accessible, memorable, and interactive workshops where individuals and organizations enhance their ability to navigate conflict, take collaborative action in their communities, and strengthen community safety. Senior Director Lisa Inks, based in Indianapolis, and Executive Director Joe Bubman will lead this interactive workshop.
The Center for Congregations is funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc. and is a supporting organization of the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
