Generosity is a powerful value that shapes healthy congregational culture and fuels a congregation’s mission. At the same time, fundraising can seem overwhelming and uncomfortable to pastors and leaders. Overcoming that barrier with confidence and competence can simultaneously grow the faith of the leader and the congregation allowing them to see God move and new levels of ministry reached.

Starting with the end goal of a congregation experiencing the joy of generosity and fully living into its mission, we will build a process with options to get there, where generosity is woven into the natural rhythms of the church. Not a weight one person bears, participants will learn how to build a fundraising team with partners within and outside the church.

Workshop participants will receive actionable ideas and tools to inspire generosity in their own congregations. No matter the size, location, or economic background of your congregation, there is a way to encourage generosity.

During this workshop:

  • Participants will discover a vision for where they want to see their congregation living into their mission and experiencing the joy of generosity.
  • Participants will identify regular rhythms that can be built into everyday ministry.
  • Participants will start to identify partners in inspiring generosity, so that the load doesn’t become overwhelming for one person.
  • Participants will learn when to consider a capital campaign, project campaign, generosity campaign, and/or legacy campaign and how to get started.

The tools from this workshop will be presented in a flexible version, with options for churches of varying sizes, locations, and backgrounds.
