Comedy isn’t typically seen as an important part of congregational life other than it’s entertainment value. However, it can be a wonderful tool for drawing people into your congregation and drawing your congregation closer together. Join Dr. Jason Deuman as he discusses how comedy can be identified in scripture and how your congregation can use it to build a healthier and more welcoming culture
Dr. Jason Deuman grew up in the Seattle area and is married to his High School sweetheart, Kathy. They have two amazing children, Judah and Jocelyn. He has served at Creekside Church for 18 years where he started as the youth pastor and transitioned into several different roles before is current role serving as the lead pastor. Jason studied Biblical Literature at Northwest University. In 2011 he completed his MA in Theology and Culture from NU. Jason’s thesis focused on comedy and truth-telling and the power of satire in the Bible and culture. In 2019 Jason completed his Doctor of Ministry with Portland Seminary.
