Speaking Empathetically: Congregations and Communication

Event Overview

Congregational leaders often have a multitude of different methods when it comes to reaching their community, from social media, to email, to flyers and in-person events. But how do you ensure that you’re reaching them in the way they respond to best? Walking alongside congregations with empathy-led communications can help increase trust, reliability and allows congregations to become places of aligned vision and community spirit.

Congregations are often dealing with so many different items, week-to-week, and communications can sometimes fall by the wayside during that process. Creating a sense of empathy when it comes to how you communicate can help keep your team invested and passionate about everything from an email newsletter to a poster.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to empathize with their audiences by mapping a “persona”
  • Understand how to allocate their communications resources to the right channels
  • Build a sustainable calendar and regular tasks to keep in touch with congregants
  • Know how to assess their work by looking at data
