The Engaging Young Adults (EYA) Initiative opens in 2019 for central Indiana congregations in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan and Shelby counties.
Up to 30 congregations will be selected by application to participate in a two-year learning community, including the opportunity to receive a $30,000 matching grant for new ministries with young adults.
Congregations in the eligible counties are invited to attend an information session about this opportunity:
- Tuesday, February 5, 2019 5-7 p.m. (Eastern time) at Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel. Light refreshments will be served.
- Wednesday, February 6, 2019 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (Eastern time) with lunch at Friendship Church in Greenwood.
These are identical events at which Center staff will share details about the EYA Initiative and the application process. Program details and application materials will be provided. The information session, program details and application materials will also be available in an on-demand video format on the Center’s website beginning February 1.
The sessions are free, but registration is required. Registration is limited to two people per congregation. It is not necessary to attend an information session to apply for the program.
The application deadline is May 1, 2019. Accepted congregations will be notified in early June, and the learning community will continue through 2020. The information sessions and on-demand video session will provide additional details and help you determine if your congregation would like to apply.
If your Indiana congregation is in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan and Shelby counties, you can register for an information session.
