Faith matters in fundraising! One of the most common motivations for giving and volunteering is the fulfillment of obligations based on our faith practices. Yet, recent years have changed the many ways we gather together, worship, and honor our faith traditions. So what does this mean in terms of fundraising for faith and values based organizations?
Join Aimée Laramore to examine the role faith has historically played in donor motivation and philanthropic expression. We’ll embrace the importance of strengthening our skills around how we talk about money, giving, and fundraising. This workshop help attendees examine and explore the importance of these topics:

Aimée Laramore is a consultant, trainer, and national speaker whose areas of expertise include Diversity in Development; The Implications of Donor Demographics in Faith-based Giving; Creating a Culture of Generosity; Expanding the Understanding of Philanthropy; and The Spirituality of Fundraising. She is a passionate teacher, trainer, consultant, and coach with more than two decades of leadership experience. She currently serves as the Director of Learning Services for the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at GVSU. (Grand Rapids, MI) Owner/Lead Consultant for ALlyd Image Solutions, a boutique consulting firm dedicated to building organizational capacity and effective development practices, Aimee has also served successfully in leadership roles throughout a variety of mission driven agencies across the country, in the health, human services, community development, higher education and faith-based institutions. Through her posts as Associate Director for Lake Institute on Faith and Giving, Director of Seminary Advancement for Christian Theological Seminary and Philanthropic Strategist for the first PhD Program in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric, you can see her commitment to effective fundraising and building a culture of generosity. A daughter of the Midwest, she is a woman of deep faith who holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision, in addition to certifications in Transformational Leadership, Economic Development and Community Organizing. Many congregations across the country have encountered Aimee’s work through workshops, speaking engagements and trainings hosted by the National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders. Her passion for the excellence of WomanPreach! Nation, Spelman College, Howard School of Divinity and The Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership can be seen in her dedication to strategy, infrastructure, governance and development. She is a committed and accomplished fundraiser and writer, who is most passionate about the role of mother to beloved hybrid adults Lydia, Noah, and Andrew.
