Welcome! This page contains the items you'll need to help get the word out about the Congregational Resource Guide.
About the CRG
The Congregational Resource Guide (CRG) is a web-based application designed to help congregational leaders, staff and members find and use the best resources to address their congregations' challenges and opportunities.
The CRG allows users to search, save, organize and discuss the resources and issues that are relevant to their faith communities. An easy-to-use search feature helps users find the right resources for the congregational challenges they identify. Resources can be books, articles, websites, organizations and more. These resources are chosen for the CRG and evaluated based on the Center for Congregations' extensive work with congregations. Once a user identifies the most helpful resources, he or she can save the resources and discuss them with others in the congregation through the CRG workspaces feature. A workspace is a repository for resources and discussions related to a specific topic, created by a congregational team member. Within a workspace, the user can begin conversations about the resources and the congregational topic, invite other congregation team members to see the resources and join the discussion, and invite an expert to help. Users can create multiple workspaces around a variety of topics they identify.
Since 1997, the Center for Congregations has helped Indiana congregations address their needs through resource consulting, educational events and grants. Our Center staff and consultants have evaluated and selected the CRG resources and serve as CRG resource experts. Throughout our more than 17 years of resourcing Indiana congregations, the Center has learned that faith communities have the best chance of flourishing when outside resources are used in concert with the congregations’ own assets and creativity to address challenges and opportunities. It is our hope that the CRG will enhance congregational leaders' capacity to blend excellent resources with their own ingenuity.
