From the Community

Your congregation is invited to submit events and happenings for this webpage.

From the Community highlights non-Center sponsored activities in the community that may be of interest to congregations in your area and throughout the state. Items are posted on the website, and a monthly email goes out to congregations.

The news items in this community collection are not Center sponsored. The information posted does not imply a Center for Congregations endorsement of those products, companies or services. We can accept only one item per congregation each month, and announcements must have a broad, general public interest. We will consider each submission, but not all can be included due to space, timing and content.

The candlelight labyrinth is a simple walking path used for meditation and centering. As the hectic holiday season begins, Faith Presbyterian Church offers a space to reflect, pray, and seek. A labyrinth is a single path to be followed. There are no tricks or dead ends, as in a maze. There is no time limit. There is no goal to be achieved. There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth. It is a time to reflect and journey to the light of God. On December 2, 2018 at 6 p.m., Faith Presbyterian Church offers a communal experience of the labyrinth.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3496 E. Morgan St., Martinsville, IN, will present its sixth annual Bethlehem Walk on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. This expanded, live Nativity will take participants through the gates of Bethlehem to confront Roman guards and tax collectors, hear the words of the prophets and wise men, shop at the merchants’ tents, encounter a variety of animals, and visit the inn and the stable. Members of Prince of Peace will serve cookies and hot chocolate in the church fellowship hall following the Walk.
