Diana Harris has been leading a yoga and spirituality class on Wednesday nights at Light of the World Christian Church for nearly a year and a half. She jumped into this work because yoga changed her life.
“One of the things that attracts me to it is the effects that it has on trauma. Yoga says to the nervous system 'THERE IS NO CRISIS.' And once the nervous system gets the message that there’s no crisis, the cells repair, so it repairs the body.”
Diana teaches two weeks out of the month and her partner, Monica, teaches the other two. Both women believe that yoga’s potential to transform congregations, and thus people, is limitless. You can catch their class every Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Light of the World Christian Church.
It is innovative ideas and inspiring people like Diana and Monica that ensure congregations are at their best. If you’re looking for ways that your congregation can continue to thrive, the Center for Congregations is here to help! Get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions.
