It seems the worship music wars may be mostly behind us. At least I don’t hear many scuffles these days about the tension worship music preferences can introduce into congregational life. Perhaps we’re all just adapting to a new normal or maybe we're still experimenting.
Music can be a significant and complimentary component of a faith community’s worship. It has the ability to orient the worshiping community away from the weight of the secular world and transition them into a posture of worship and receptiveness to spiritual teaching. Music can also reflect the identity of a congregation, reinforce deeply held traditions and highlight specific seasons in a religious calendar.
How can congregations give appropriate attention to these things while keeping the worship experience fresh? The CRG has several resources to help. Take a look.
