Sacred Space Conference

In 2005, the Indianapolis Center for Congregations hosted a Sacred Space Conference to help congregations address not only building issues, but long-range planning, faith formation, outreach, education and more. Nearly 200 pastors, staff and lay leaders attended the two-day conference at Eagle Church in Zionsville.

This unique and informational event included relevant workshops presented by leaders in the fields of building, design, planning, and fundraising. Congregations explored how space, mission and ministry work together, and discovered the three-step process of discerning, deciding and doing.

Indiana congregations are faced with a variety of issues regarding facilities. Conference speakers and presentations informed and empowered congregations to handle their challenges – making congregational space a place of hospitality; what are the best ways to work with an architect; specific do's and don'ts during a construction phase; raising money for a building project; and more.
