Ever want to locate someplace mentioned in the Bible on a modern day map?
Here’s a website that allows you to do just that, with every identifiable place mentioned in the Bible being labeled on a Google earth map. Bible Geocoding is more current, user-friendly, and interactive than looking up an old atlas so will appeal to the younger set as well.
Once on the site, select a chapter of the Bible, then click "review" to see the map. At this point it is helpful to zoom out (click the minus sign at the bottom of the white line that looks like a railroad track on the upper left corner of the map) until you recognize what you’re looking at. Then zoom back in to a comfortable level of detail. Click on a city name from the list on the right, or navigate around the map yourself by clicking a directional arrow. You can alternate between a plain map view, a satellite image, or a terrain contour.
