Web 2.0 Bistro was a 2009 summer luncheon series that explored Web 2.0 tools, social networking and ways to use the internet as a ministry tool.
Leading this session by video conference, Monique Cuvelier, CEO of Talance, an organization specializing in websites and Web 2.0 tools, talked about Using Twitter in Your Congregation.
The second session of this workshop series focused on Using Facebook in Your Congregation, led by Lori Bievenour, associate pastor at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Carmel.
Center Information Technology Director Aaron Spiegel then facilitated an open forum of technical Q&A. Questions from the audience determined the direction of this session.
Technical Instruction
This workshop series included presentations and exploration of helpful website resources. The sessions covered specific, technical how-to instructions. For example, participants heard a description of Facebook and a story of how a local congregation is effectively using this tool. Then the group walked through the Facebook website and interacted with the session leader about the nuts and bolts of using Facebook.
